For licensed registered nurses
Nurse Injector Training for Registered Nurses
Your nursing background gives you a foundation in patient assessment, clinical care, and safety. Becoming an aesthetic nurse injector means building on that foundation with specialized knowledge of facial anatomy, neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and injection techniques.
At Injector Training Academy (ITA), our nurse injector training programs combine structured education with private, one-on-one hands-on instruction.
Whether you’re exploring aesthetics for the first time or preparing for a new clinical role, you can choose a training pathway that fits your experience, schedule, and goals.

Can registered nurses inject Botox in Texas?
Yes, registered nurses may administer Botox and other cosmetic injectable treatments in Texas when appropriately trained and working under applicable physician delegation and supervision requirements.
However, RNs cannot independently practice cosmetic injections in Texas simply because they hold a nursing license or complete a training course.
Cosmetic injections are considered medical procedures, and Texas Medical Board rules address the delegation and supervision of nonsurgical medical cosmetic procedures. Before performing aesthetic injections, nurses must work within their professional scope, applicable physician orders and delegation arrangements, and established clinical protocols.
A training certificate documents education and practical experience. It does not replace professional licensure, physician oversight, or any other applicable legal requirements.
Do you need a medical director?
If you’re planning to work in an aesthetic practice or open a med spa, physician oversight and appropriate delegation arrangements are important considerations.
ITA can connect eligible healthcare professionals with medical director placement support through Medical Director Co., a separate service. Medical director placement is not automatically included in your training tuition.
If you’re licensed outside Texas, review your state board of nursing’s requirements and applicable medical practice laws before administering cosmetic injectables.
Nurse injector training that fits around your hospital schedule
Many registered nurses interested in aesthetics already work full-time, part-time, or rotating hospital shifts.
ITA’s Injector Certification Program allows you to complete approximately 6 hours of online education at your own pace. Once you’re ready for the clinical component, you can coordinate a private hands-on training day with the team based on scheduling availability.
For nurses choosing the Internship, training and shadowing opportunities can be coordinated around your availability. The Internship also provides access to shadowing opportunities at ITA’s nine established Texas med spa locations, allowing you to observe consultations and treatment workflows in real clinical settings.
Whether you’re transitioning from bedside nursing or adding aesthetic skills to your professional background, our team can discuss scheduling options suited to your commitments.
What will you learn in RN Botox and dermal filler training?
ITA’s nurse injector training focuses on developing the clinical knowledge and practical techniques needed for aesthetic injection procedures.
Facial anatomy and assessment
Learn how facial anatomy, the aging process, and individual patient characteristics influence aesthetic treatment planning.
You’ll explore the importance of evaluating facial structures and selecting appropriate treatment approaches.
Neurotoxin treatments
Study neurotoxin fundamentals, treatment planning, product selection, injection techniques, and patient safety considerations.
The Certification Program combines online demonstrations with supervised live-model practice.
Dermal filler techniques
Explore dermal filler applications for areas such as the lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, and full-face balancing.
Training addresses product characteristics, patient assessment, and individualized treatment planning.
Injection safety and complications
Learn about contraindications, informed consent, complication recognition, vascular occlusion, and emergency protocols.
Safety education is incorporated into both the online and hands-on components.
Patient consultations and treatment planning
Develop your understanding of aesthetic consultations, patient expectations, appropriate treatment selection, and the importance of documenting treatment decisions.

Private, one-on-one hands-on training
At ITA, hands-on instruction is provided in a private, one-on-one setting. Rather than relying solely on demonstrations, you’ll have the opportunity to perform supervised injections on live models with an experienced trainer.
This individualized approach allows time for questions, technique feedback, anatomy review, and treatment-planning discussions.
In the Certification Program, you personally inject six live models during your private clinical training day. The Internship provides additional opportunities for supervised injections, along with extended shadowing and clinical education over 12 weeks.
Our goal is to help you build practical skills through structured instruction, supervised experience, and a focus on patient safety.
What certificate will you receive?
After successfully completing ITA’s Injector Certification Program, you’ll receive an official Certificate of Completion recognizing both your online education and hands-on clinical training.
The certificate documents the training you’ve completed. It does not change your nursing license, expand your legal scope of practice, or independently authorize you to perform cosmetic injections.
ITA’s programs don’t currently award CE or CME credits. This means the training does not count toward nursing continuing education requirements.
Before beginning aesthetic practice, confirm that your training, physician oversight, and intended procedures comply with applicable state requirements.
